Resistance to Oppression as Psychological Resilience and Healing: A Quranic Framework
When we face prolonged injustices that cause traumatic adversities, such as first and second hand experiences with wars, we tend to look for ways to stay strong and cope. Often, existing mental health models fall short in adequately satisfying our need for answers. In this seminar, we will use a Quranic framework to study how the very act of resistance to injustices can offer psychological mechanisms for resilience and healing.
